Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

The Technical Consultant is the technical reference for some customers and he is responsible for technical advising on NCR products, user requirements collect, functional specifications analysis, technical documentation, development and testing activities, software release and installation package, problem determination and resolution.

It’s a combined position of SME, QA, Advanced support and BA for various NCR product, with special focus on Loyalty pro and supporting Loyalty Pro customers in Italy in the different roles listed here.

This role is one of the highest technical roles within NCR PS and requires a combination of qualities that will enable a successful candidate to work end-to-end to deliver projects, support customer needs and business and technical initiatives at the industry and with customers.

Basic and team Qualifications

  • Software and systems architecture (technical, IT and enterprise)
  • Need Bachelor’s Degree required or preferred
  • Deep knowledge of retail market & solutions
  • Complex matrix organization experience
  • Demonstrate technical credibility and a consultative approach with existing and prospective customers
  • NCR’s product, solution and service portfolio ( mainly in Retail Area )
  • Data architecture knowledge (e.g. transactional and analytical processing, real-time analytics, etc.)
  • High sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration and coaching skills
  • Excellent problem solving attitude
  • High level of initiative and flexibility
  • Meaningful experience in professional services
  • Good technical analysis skills

Preferred Qualifications

Technical

  • Experience designing and implementing Web-service architecture.
  • Experience with Windows operating system: server and workstation, system administration, cluster management
  • Experience with Microsoft Sql server: administering, managing, deployment, development t-sql, design and analysis.
  • Experience with network distributed architecture: client/server, web and databases
  • Microsoft .Net programming experience; preference C#.
  • Knowledge and experience in other programming languages: java, basic, C++ and C.
  • Experience in working with Windows operating system administrative languages: command line and PowerShell.
  • Experience with Loyalty Pro products, components, and architecture (SME).
  • Excellent in working with all productivity tools: Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Project, Database and Xml productivity tools, editors.
  • Able to wear multiple hats: navigates freely between business, technical, execution, operations, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in: web-service architecture, data architecture, analytics, software/application architecture, standards

Personal

  • Pragmatic: able to effectively manage the cost of business
  • Able to produce and communicate complex solutions to a wide variety of audiences; native national language and good English knowledge.
  • A continual learner that stays up-to-date on the latest technologies (attends and ideally presents at tech conferences)

Attitude and approach to work

  • Extreme flexibility to switch between different parallel projects, changes in priorities, and to cover different task
  • The role requires availability to work extra hours, nights and weekends on demand, based on planned tasks, to perform software updates off trading hours.
  • It also requires availability to handle critical incidents which needs immediate attention and solution at any time of the day and week, focusing on the problem resolution with highest attention and availability.
