DHL Express is seeking a Capacity Optimization Controller for its office in Diegem, Belgium.
Your role will be to:

  • Support the ACS Booking & Capacity Managers on a day-to-day basis. Analyse and help optimise the available ACS Capacity. Maintain capacity allocated to ACS in the designated systems as to achieve the optimum utilization of the available ACS capacity on the DHL flown and trucking network.
  • Update / monitor forecast data flow and provide support to the sales teams on capacity availability on a day-to-day basis.


  • Coordinate the various teams input to the capacity utilization on a daily basis.
  • Represent the B&C team on the relevant network calls / meeting to decide network changes and service performance impact.
  • Be the primary liaison between the B&C team, and our Sales teams and operations HUB & Gateways.
  • Work with our Performance Manage team to identify service gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the Booking & Planning teams in the day-to-day optimization of flights, and recovery options.
  • Develop and maintain expertise on Capacity Optimization management tools and techniques.
  • Work in close cooperation with Sales, Capacity Management and Operations.
  • Provide regular communications on progress and provide feedback to relevant parties.
  • Implements processes and tools that provide real time support for decision making.
  • Reduce overloads and optimize the utilization of available capacity.
  • Address external customer escalations related to B&C.
  • Encourage effective cooperation / communication with all dept. – AS ONE
  • Encourage Best Demonstrated Practices deployment.


  • Strong leadership & communication skills to be able to deal / influence people across different functions and seniority levels.
  • Ability to think laterally, come up with innovative solutions and challenge the ideas of others.
  • Must be a team player with strong relationship and project management skills.
  • Solid business knowledge and experience, as well as an understanding of the airline cargo industry competitive environment.
  • Strong analytical skills - Must be able to quickly analyse data, summarize results/conclusions and effectively present findings.
  • Must be able to resolve problems by balancing relevant factors and grasp mathematical concepts related to cargo revenue management.
  • Results driven.
  • Fluent in English, must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • 3-5 years in Aviation/Cargo industry in related area of responsibility.
