Job Description

About the role:

The Accounting Manager manages two or more individuals. Ensures organizational adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements. Ensures timely preparation and review of required regulatory filings. Advises in annual budgeting and prepares accounting reports for executive leadership. Reviews work submitted by accountants and manages accounting close processes. Performs analysis on organizational or business unit financial and accounting metrics for presentation to leadership. Manages the activities of supervisors and/or individual contributors.

  • Manages staff, including hiring, firing, and conducting performance reviews
  • Ability to analyze monthly variances
  • Researches and documents on proper US GAAP accounting
  • Prepares and / or reviews journal entries
  • Reviews and/or performs account reconciliations
  • Assists in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements
  • Performs and is responsible for general control activities
  • Assists in the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly consolidation packages
  • Identifies exposures and recommends corrective action to management
  • Evaluates and monitors controls to ensure compliance with SOX
  • Responds to information requests from staff at all levels and all functions
  • Completes special projects
  • Interacts with internal and external customers

About you:

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or any Finance related courses
  • Must be a CPA
  • 5+ years previous experience in finance-related roles (should be familiar with general accounting, local tax knowledge, month-end reporting, financial controls and audit)
  • 1+ year of people management experience
  • Must have experience working in a multinational company environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Ability to research and interpret US GAAP
  • Strong supervisory and management skills
  • Proficient in problem solving and prioritizing
  • Work effectively with all levels of employees
  • Strong knowledge of approved accounting practices including financial statement information and preparation of financial reports and statistics
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills for analysis and presentation of data
  • Demonstrates strong presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle pressure
