 Position Overview

The security assistant shall be responsible for ensuring daily security of stones through all operation processes. This position also covers security for the whole facility in general: ensuring that the outsourced security guards are performing their duties as desired. Support HSE Supervisor/Officer and Administration Manager in ensuring highest level of security for the whole facility
Key Accountabilities
Facility security 
  • Ensure that outsourced security guard team is working as per their assigned duties and responsibilities
  • Security supervisor must ensure guard rounds are done as per agreed guard tour plan 
  • Work on continuous basis to detect security risks within the facility 
  • Study current situation & suggest security improvements for the facility 
  • Monitor the same to ensure opening & closing policy is followed for the facility 
  • Security supervisor must ensure all cameras are operational and recording. Coordinate with IT department for any issue of camera system functionality 
  • Do security checks through Gemba Walks on daily basis to all production areas & other related areas (including washrooms) to find abnormalities with regards to security and as required perform further investigations and suggest corrective and preventive action plans 
  • Ensure highest level of security is maintained working closely with HSE Supervisor and Admin Manager when external vendors are working within the factory premises where he or she needs to ensure proper work permits are obtained for the job being carried
  • Ensure that all procedures related to visitor entry to facility, factory opening and closing procedures, communication in case of alarms etc.
  • Ensure all requirements as per C-TPAT recommendations are followed
Stone Security 
  • Security Supervisor to monitor the CCTV footage generating from site camera periodically over the screen of a day to look for any abnormality related to security of the stones and facility. Depending on the need frequency and duration to view footage can be altered
  • Security supervisor should generally monitor camera to focus on area where there are more risks of switching/stealing stones than other areas like: sieving, table, block, consolidation area, shipping room, checking offices, grading area
  •  Security Supervisor should watch for polishers/window operators ensuring counting /checking stones as received and issued and all this is ensured being done under Point-of-view camera
  • Security supervisor should be present at the sections where stones lost are reported & where workers are looking for the lost stones 
  • Security supervisor should arrange & take part in security investigations for switching/stealing stones including relevant document preparation as necessary
  • Security supervisor to prepare diamond spot check daily/weekly for supervisors/managers as appropriate 
  • Prepare lost stones report on weekly/monthly basis to report to the company management 
  •  Work closely with Person-In-Charge responsible for to drive Stone Risk Assessment activities for the site and coordinate with departments to ensure actions as per action plan are implemented
Communication and Liaison 
  •  Bring security related issues to Administration Manager or Plant Director • Work closely with external authorities who visit site from security related reasons like investigation support, general routine visits etc.
Housekeeping, Security and Safety 
  • Ensure any abnormalities found are highlighted in a timely manner to appropriate levels. In case any assistance needed on any issue contact to Administration Manager or as necessary Plant Director as per hierarchy for help and guidance. 
  • Ensure the security of all goods and property throughout the process 
  • Maintain a safe attitude at work and behave in safe manner to prevent accidents and injuries. Strictly adhere to all safe operating procedures as described in LDC policies/procedures and through safety training programs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Admin manager or Plant Director
